Snow at last

After three months of sun it was great to get out and about with some snow. This morning I managed to grab a few hours from sorting computers and processing booking forms and headed up onto Dartmoor to see what the conditions were like.

It was very cold and a thick layer of dry powdery snow covered the ground. Unfortunately this wiped off rock and grass very easily so I ditched my idea of a Dartmoor ski tour and headed out for a quick walk including a scramble over the top of Leather Tor which was more interesting than normal but not really claimable as a winter route.

This is part of my acclimatisation process getting used to the cold before heading up North to Scotland
