This is the second week I have been working for Wet and High Adventures Ltd managing an activity week for a group of apprentices from Bridgwater and Taunton College .  Only 30 clients, and 7 instructors this time. Still 4 minibuses and 2 trailers to sort out. Here are a few pics of what they got upto We had groups out kayaking and canoeing, mountain biking and on a mini expedition across Exmoor.

This week I have been working for Wet and High Adventures Ltd managing an activity week for a group of apprentices from Bridgwater and Taunton College .  As I had 42 clients, 9 instructors, 4 minibuses and 2 trailers to sort out I don't want to bore you with pictures of what I was doing so these are what the groups were getting upto whilst I was co-ordinating everything. We had groups out kayaking and canoeing, mountain biking and on a mini expedition across Exmoor.

This week I am heading up a team of instructors for Wet and High Adventures who are working in partnership with Bridgwater College providing 9 instructors for 45 MOD apprentices on Dartmoor, based at The Dartmoor Training Centre . Today was about getting to know each other, some team tasks, route planning, food shopping and for Nick's team, some juggling. Tomorrow all the activities start in earnest. Yesterday and Today I was in The New Forest with Haygrove School assisting with their Year 7 Camp based at Foxlease in Lyndhurst. Super hot weather with 97 Year 7 kids, a trip to Beaulieu Motor Museem , a walk in the woods and some onsite activities. A new (but smaler) group arrived today and I headed of to work elsewhere tomorrow.

I have been working in conjunction with Bridgwater College this week managing activities for a group of MOD apprentices on their adventurous activity team development week. Thanks to all the instructors (Swifty, Paul, Mark, Robin and Stu) who have worked with me and made my life easy (ish). The groups climbed, biked and had a 2 day expedition across Dartmoor. Next week three of these guys and 2 others will be running an identical week in my abscence as I am realising one of my life goals tomorrow as I fly out to the Galapagos Islands for 2 weeks. Normally I would be nervous of being away with a big event on but the team worked so well this week that I am completely relaxed about leaving them to it. Cheers guys. Be good and have fun

This week I have been again working in my role as a member of Bridgwater College staff with 70 apprentices at Runnage Farm for a week of outdoor activities. Due to the numbers involved, my main job was managing the 10 instructors and other staff but I did get out and about at some points. During the week, the students went rock climbing either at Sheeps Tor, The Dewerstone or Dart Rock if raining. They had a days off road cycling and a 2 day expedition with some challenges involved. Even with the weather not being great, we managed to get a lot done during the week. In the evenings we had an interesting talk from Darren Swift about his expedition to Everest back in 2003, watched Touching the Void and even a Disco in a marque. My thanks to the team of instructors involved.

After finishing with activities week today and with the help of Olly Rees, I managed to get the majority of the van furniture finished. All I need now are a shelf and doors for the kitchen unit, fit the cooker/sink and to get the soft furnishings in.

Over the last 6 days I have been out with my students climbing, paddling, sailing, surfing and  coasteering. 6 days done and an easy day out with Year 8 on Monday to Quay West. Time to relax.

From Friday 21st June to Monday 1st July is Plymouth College Activities Week. I am running around like a mad thing making it all happen, juggling minibuses, students, staff and hopefully teaching some of the activities myself if I get a chance.
