Expedition Team Training

Image
This summer I will be working for True Adventure on a expedition to Ecuador and The Galapagos Islands. This weekend is was in Ickwell near Bedford meeting the team from Bedford Modern School that I will be working with. A very cold and wet Saturday (where we managed to do most activities inside) dried out enough for a short walk with some training scenarios thrown in. It was also my last night in a tent for 2018

Malawi Team Meet

Image
Yesterday and today I was at Grendon Hall with the group I will be taking to Malawi this summer.  It was good to finally meet the students and staff that I will be spending this summer with and we got lots of activities done over the 24 hours. It was also the first camping trip on the new bike. Good to know I can fit all my camping gear plus 5 different team building activities on it.

Activities on Dartmoor

This week I am heading up a team of instructors for Wet and High Adventures who are working in partnership with Bridgwater College providing 9 instructors for 45 MOD apprentices on Dartmoor, based at The Dartmoor Training Centre . Today was about getting to know each other, some team tasks, route planning, food shopping and for Nick's team, some juggling. Tomorrow all the activities start in earnest. The Wet and High Adventures blog will be updated each day

High and Low

This week I am working with Bridgwater College Level 4 Public Services and Outdoor students. Yesterday was cycle maintenance and route planning so it was nice to get outside today at Cannington Activity Centre to use the High and Low ropes as a way of looking at teamwork and leadership.
