 I have just got back from a couple of days in North Wales on a Water Skills Academy SUP Adventure Guide training course run by Dave Brown A day riding the flow through the Menai Strait and a day off the coast of Anglesey with the seals in warm weather made a a great few days of learning. Of course, come assessment time it will be wet and windy to make up for it

Today I have been out in the sun running a Rock Climbing Instructor refresher course for members of the Mountain Training Association. 5 candidates who were keen to share ideas and review their own practices meant we got a lot done and some great discussions had. We looked at Top and Bottom Roping, Abseils and lots of ways we can prevent problems occuring Thanks for a good day

Today I have been down in Newquay for the NCC symposium where I attended workshops on Jumping from Height, Technical Advice, Wildlife and AALA. A useful day for networking and checking on current good practice.

As part of my ongoing professional development today I was observing a British Canoeing Foundation Safety and Rescue Course run by Luke Moore

Today I was down at Haven Banks in Exeter attending a FSRT (Foundation Safety and Rescue) Provider course so I can run these courses in the future. Open Canoes, White Water Kayaks, SUPS, Sea Kayaks and some old school General Purpose boats all came out to play The course was run by Lee Pooley and contained some very good ideas and it was refreshing to see a course run in a very practical and well though out way way but still covering the syllabus required.
