With storms raging up high, we took the sensible option of staying low and doing some dry tooling at Onich Slabs (along with a large number of other people) Sometimes the mountains do not want us up there!

Dry Tooling
On the second day of a Wet and High Adventures Ltd bespoke Winter Mountaineering/climbing course we avoided the wind and rain and headed to Newtyle Quarry for some Dry Tooling. Thanks to Stu for coming along aswell. After some coaching on footwork and axe placements on the beginners slab, both the clients, Stu and I all climbed Bonzai and Groovalicious and some really good techniques (including a adze torque) got used by all. Really nice to see in particular the improvement and car being taken in placing crampons carefully in slots and lips rather than windmilling in hope.
AMI AGM CPD 2
On the second day of the Association of Mountaineering Instructors AGM weekend we stayed low and looked at dry tooling and rope systems using the Glenmore Lodge grounds. As always, really useful to practice some technical stuff without being battered by wind or rain.

A bit steep Today to avoid the mountain weather Geoff and I headed to a slate quarry near Dunkeld for a spot of Dry Tooling in the sun. We had a play on a number of routes and then had a look at the cave area which had some seriously hard stuff in which we did not bother trying
