With the Mountain Leader Assessment candidates out on expedition with Si and Stu, I was back out on Tryfan for a second day with 2 other candidates who needed a one day steep ground assessment provided by Wet and High Adventures Ltd to finish off their qualification. I am please to say both performed at the required standard and passed. Well Done!

On Day 2 of the Mountain Leader Assessment I am directing for Wet and High Adventures Ltd , we headed to Tryfan's North Ridge for all things steep and ropey! I had the group of 3 today and the other 4 who I had yesterday were out with Stu. Lots of decision making, route finding, spotting, coaching and of course the occasional use of rope throughout the day. A damp humid and muggy start that cleared up nicely and turned into a pretty good hill day.

On the second day of the Mountain Leader Assessment I am directing for Wet and High Adventures Ltd we headed to the steep ground of Tryfan to look at managing groups with and without a rope. We were lucky enough to have the fast jest fly beneath us a few times as well as meet the local goats

With a forecast of a blue sky low wind day, it was North Ridge of Tryfan for the first day of Mountain Skills course from Bridgwater and Taunton College Outdoor Education students who are on a residential up in Snowdonia. Well what a day it turn out to be. As nice as forecast and the group enjoyed a day in the mountains. This is a first for some of the students and certainly the hardest climb for most of them. Pretty much like a day in The Alps for the 4th day of the Mountain Leader Training course I am directing for Wet and High Adventures Ltd . Warm sunshine, clear summits and great visibility. The added bonus of looking down onto some fast jets and a Hercules coming through the Ogwen valley whilst we zig zagged up and down Tryfan. I have now handed the course over to Stu and have arrived in southern Snowdonia to assist Bristol Choir School with the last day of their Gold DofE Practice before heading back down south tomorrow afternoon.

Well, it was wet again today, so we left the climbing gear in the van and climbed Tryfan via the north ridge and down via Bwlch Tryfan and Llyn Bochllwyd. Proper rain saw us wet through to our pants but that s just part of the adventure

Today was the first day of the Mountain Skills course for the Bridgwater College students. We took on the north ridge of Tryfan looking at movement skills and route finding. The weather was not as wild as forecast so although we didn't necessarily expect to we did actually make the summit before a descent of the Heather Terrace.  All got suitably wet and saw first hand the importance of a layering system that we discussed yesterday evening in the theory session.
