RYA Diesel Engine Course

What appalling weather last week brought. On Saturday I spent the day in the classroom at Plymouth Sailing School undertaking a Diesel Engine course which I thought would be a good idea before I attempt to service my yacht engine next week.

PADI Divemaster

After a pool session earlier in the week and some admin this morning, I am now a PADI Divemaster . Thanks to Hayley and the other instructors at Aquanauts in Plymouth.

Another Ten Tors Training Day

Out with year 9 and 10 students on the moor for some Ten Tors Training. A good weather day an 20km done. Probably nearer 40km for Daisy with all the circles she was doing

Another 3 Dives at New England Quarry

In the 2 weeks since I last dived here, the water has dropped 1 degree and it is now a slightly chilly 11 degress centigrade. Today I was guiding 2 qualified divers around the quarry finding the all the objects of interest that are in there. The last dive of the day was search and recovery scenario which was pretty difficult once the bottom had been kicked up.

Sheeps Tor Climbing

A break in the weather allowed my 6th Form climbing group to get outside for a mix of bouldering, top roping, leading and hiding from the biting cold wind

The last 10 days

This last 10 days has been pretty hectic and included climbing wall trips and pool based SCUBA work. Apologies for the lack of updates/photos.

3 Dives at New England Quarry

Back up at New England Quarry today working with students on Open Water and Dry Suit courses. I did 3 dives between the two courses and yesterday's mapping exercise was not wasted. A bit of irony though as I didn't need a map as I remembered it all. I think winter is coming. The water is now at 12 degrees but that was still wamer than the air tempertaure. I really must find my missing wetsuit gloves before I dive again.
