I have just got back from a great week in The Lake District assessing a Gold DofE Expedition for Bristol Cathedral School . It was mainly dry at the start but got wetter during the week to end with a very damp days. The pictures are from the first 2 days before the rain set in.
The last 2 days, I have been working with Andy Holborn on a Climbing Wall Instructor Training course for staff from SSE Outdoors . The first day at The Quay Climbing Centre in Exeter and the second day at their own site, gave us two very different venues to work with and to explore all the skills needed by a CWI.
Today I was at Wellington School training and assessing staff to use their newly built climbing wall before the students come back next week. This wall is a great new addition to the existing outside wall meaning they can climb year round in all weathers.
I have just got back from a couple of days in North Wales on a Water Skills Academy SUP Adventure Guide training course run by Dave Brown A day riding the flow through the Menai Strait and a day off the coast of Anglesey with the seals in warm weather made a a great few days of learning. Of course, come assessment time it will be wet and windy to make up for it
After a relaxing Sat evening on the mooring being treated to some formation flying by the Canada Geese, on Sunday it was off and over to Cawsand for lunch on anchor before trying hard to "goosewing" all the way back to the Mew Stone. Sadly the light variable winds made this pretty difficult but it was still good fun trying.
Today started with facilitating a Beach Lifeguard exam before ending up have a Coasteering session to a bit of CPD for a group of Outdoor Instructors from Swanage. All 3 who were being examined passed. Well Done Off to a yacht for the night
